French nationals and other nationals of EU countries do not need visas to enter the country if they stay less than 90 days.

French citizens, like other citizens of the EU, can stay in Finland for three months without applying for a residence permit. If they stay longer, they must register with the local police. Further information can be found on the Immigration Directorate's website.

Other foreigners who are staying in Finland for more than three months must apply for a residence permit by the Finnish Embassy before arriving in Finland.
