VISA ITALIE Application

Nationals of the following countries must obtain a visa to enter Italy:

(*) Exempt from the obligation if the passenger holds a visa or residence permit from one of the EU Member States or from the European Economic Area, Canada or the United States of America .

(**) exempt from the obligation if the passenger holds a visa or residence permit from one of the Member States of the European Economic Area, Canada or the USA.

(***) are exempt from the requirement to obtain a transit visa if they are in possession of a "residence permit" issued by one of the following countries: Ireland, Liechtenstein, the United Kingdom or A "Residence permit with unlimited return" issued by one of the following countries: Andorra, Canada, Japan, Monaco, San Marino, Switzerland, USA.

For long stays (more than 90 days), regardless of the reason for travel and nationality, it is compulsory to obtain a visa even for nationals who do not need a short stay or transit visa.
