VISA MALDIVES Application

The French and many other nationalities can obtain a tourist visa free of charge on arrival for a stay of up to 30 days. To do this, you have to present:

- passport valid for the entire stay

- return plane ticket

- proof of sufficient financial means (about $ 150 / day) or hotel reservation

It is also possible to apply for a visa extension for an additional 60 days (90 days in total), by contacting the Immigration and Emigration Department in Maldives http://www.immigration.gov.mv .

The visa extension is payable (750 MVR), it must be requested by filling in the form "Visa Extension Application Form" at the Immigration Department, before the expiry of the visa 30 days.

The Immigration Department will re-examine the financial capacity of the applicant to verify that the person has sufficient funds for the remainder of his or her trip.
