VISA SURINAME Application

Information to know:

  • Visa exemptions: Nationals of the following countries with a regular passport are exempt from visas if they stay less than 90 days: Antigua and Barbuda, Argentina, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Brazil, Chile, Gambia, Guyana, Jamaica, South Korea, Philippines, Singapore, St. Lucia, Trinidad and Tobago. Non-exhaustive list may change at any time, contact us for verification.
  • Visa on arrival: Reserved for tourists wishing to obtain a visa for a single entry with a stay of 90 days maximum. Only concerns arrivals at Paramaribo International Airport (PBM). Count between $ 20 and $ 25.
  • Children: A complete visa application must be completed for each child.

O Minors traveling alone : Provide in addition to formalities Tourism: an authorization to leave the territory of both parents issued + copy of the family booklet

O Minors traveling with one of the parents: Provide in addition to the formalities Tourism: Permission to leave the territory of the other parent + copy of the family booklet + copy of parents' identity documents

 

 

VISA BUSINESS

  • VSI order form in duplicate
  • Original passport valid for at least 6 months, with 3 free pages imperative
  • Copy of Passport ID
  • 1 original color photo (not scanned) meeting the following criteria:

O Dates less than 6 months

O Both ears must be visible

O No earrings for men

O No piercing on face for men and women

O The bust / décolleté should not be visible

O Do not smile

  • 1 fully completed original visa application form. Attention: the signature on the form must be exactly the same as the signature on the passport
  • Invitation letter from the company inviting you to Suriname, written on top of the paper, mentioning the reason, the dates of travel, the number of entries desired and the passenger's co-ordinates
  • Mission letter from the French company
  • Copy of the air ticket or itinerary
  • Confirmation of hotel reservation
  • Copy of the yellow fever vaccination notebook
  • For foreigners residing in France (outside Europe): Provide in addition a copy of the residence permit

 

VISA TOURISM

  • VSI order form in duplicate

VISA TRANSIT

Same formalities as tourist visa

If staying more than 90 days

Persons wishing to remain for more than 90 days in the territory must apply for a Temporary Residence Permit (MKV = Machtiging Kort Verblijf) 3 months before the planned departure date in Suriname.

People who travel with a business or tourism visa can not obtain this authorization on site.

Nationals exempt from entry visas in Suriname may apply for this authorization during their stay (within 2 weeks of arrival).

For people from Suriname (born in Suriname or both parents born in Suriname), they can travel with a business or tourist visa and apply for authorization during their stay.

To apply for the Residence Authorization "MKV", you must:

- MKV completed

- Documents below. Attention: All public documents (certificates) must be apostilled by the Court of Appeal.

  • 2 passport-size passport photos, recent
  • Copy of Passport ID
  • Original certificate of good conduct (justice and police)
  • Bank statements or any other document proving that the traveler has sufficient funds for his stay in Suriname. In case of insufficient background, attach a certificate of guarantee of your deposit
  • In case of internship or voluntaritat: attach a copy of the official invitation letter of the organization, specifying the reason and duration of the agreement
  • In case of work: attach a copy of the employment contract
  • For foreign nationals applying for a visa in France: copy of the residence permit
  • If you are married, divorced, living in concubinage, provide a copy of the marriage certificate, divorce or concubinage
  • For children or young people under the age of 17 or if traveling with only one parent: Authorization to leave the country + Copy of the family booklet + Copy of the court decision in case of adoption
  • Copy of insurance certificate repatriation and medical expenses valid for the duration of your stay
  • For Chinese only: Medical Certificate

The complete file is to be provided in 2 copies! One original + 1 copy

The processing of the application takes approximately 3 months

If permission is granted, you must apply for a "KV" visa = short stay in Suriname. The formalities are identical to the tourist visa. This visa is only used to enter Suriname. It is valid for 60 days. Cost of visa: 52 €

Once in Suriname, you must register with the Ministry of Justice and the Police within 2 weeks of your arrival. The passport must absolutely be valid for at least 6 months from the date of arrival and include a free page.
